For those who have attended the 2.5 day workshop, our every other month opportunity to Caucus will be offered on Tuesday, May 10 from 6-9pm at Madison Square Church. We will start our evening by having a light dinner together in the Madison lobby. After dinner, we will head to another space where Pastor Emmett Harrison and Janice McWhertor will guide us in a workshop analysis review and a teaching time. We will also have the opportunity to reflect in our racial groups about how we have seen and experienced the damaging internalization of racism within us.
We hope this Tuesday pattern is serving you well. Our CORR team knows how important it is to learn and work together when addressing this difficult and crucial issue of racism. CORR wants to work with you!
Keep marking your calendars for that 2nd Tuesday of the month. We hope you will join us! The June 14 Mini Workshop (7-9pm) will be led by Pastor Emmett Harrison on the Doctrine of Discovery. This doctrine was written in the 1400s and continues to have negative impacts on our country today. The CRCNA Synod will be addressing this doctrine at their gathering this June and Pastor Emmett will also give us an report from that event.
Please RSVP for Tuesday’s May 10 Caucus to email@example.com.
The Summer Understanding Racism Workshop is June 16-18, 2016 at Madison Square Church
We are humbled and energized by the opportunity to work with a room filled with people who care about racial injustice. We are reminded throughout every workshop of God’s heart in this work and our opportunity to be a part of it.
Now is the time to talk with friends and colleagues about this essential need to dismantle racism together in our churches and communities. To help you, you may invite a CORR leader to a conversation with a committee, small group or individual – just contact us.
The fall workshop is set for October 20-22, 2016, details TBA.
